Don't forget skills beyond planning, there are still concerns about rapid expansion of production capacity

Plug in hybrid power is relative to traditional hybrid power. Plug in hybrid power can be directly charged by an external power source, and the battery capacity is large. It can rely on electric power to travel for long intervals, so the requirements for the motor function are relatively high.
In the development of new energy cars, SAIC is a domestic car company with independent intellectual property rights in the three major categories of pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell, and has now mastered the core skills of "battery, electric drive, and electronic control". The plug-in hybrid technology is a key point of SAIC's "Green Core" strategic plan, and it is reported that it will launch two fewer plug-in hybrid products this year. Now, SAIC has released plug-in hybrid sedans Roewe e550 and e950. From the recent sales performance, the e550 has shown outstanding performance, with a monthly sales volume of 1611 units in December of the previous year, becoming the best-selling plug-in hybrid mid size car.
Ouyang Minggao, Executive Vice Chairman of the Hundred People's Association for Electric Sedans, stated that the foundation of traditional power sedans is relatively poor, but they are not far behind foreign countries in terms of new power, and even have better skills than foreign countries in many aspects.
Traditional hybrid Toyota insists on reaping rewards eventually
At the end of October last year, Toyota launched the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, both equipped with domestically produced powertrains. Toyota, which has always insisted on hybrid technology, finally completed the production of its core hybrid technology, which greatly reduced the price of Toyota's hybrid models and achieved a "zero price difference" between the hybrid and gasoline versions of the same model.
The hybrid technology known as "twin engine" by Toyota is also commonly referred to as traditional hybrid technology. It has two power sources, an engine and an electric motor, which greatly improve power functions, greatly reduce fuel consumption, and do not require external charging. Toyota has stated that the domestically produced hybrid technology has selected multiple Toyota skills that are suitable for people's driving habits.
Industry insiders say that the domestically produced hybrid powertrain is based on the THS II system on the third-generation Prius, and some of the new skills from the THS III system on the fourth generation Prius are used in the PCU and battery. In terms of skills, it is better than all models that use the THS II system, but slightly inferior to the fourth generation Prius that uses the THS III system.
